Who we are

Our website address is: https://midkentbeekeepers.org.uk We are the Mid-Kent Branch of The Kent Beekeepers’ Association, A Company Limited by Guarantee (Reg No 238630) and a registered Charity (Reg No 222946). The website is designed for informational purposes and to provide a storefront to enable our members to join or renew their branch membership. From time to time we may collect payment for other branch activities not included in your membership such as beekeeping courses run by the branch, Summer BBQ or the Christmas Party.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Information You Voluntarily Submit: We may collect personal information from you such as your name or email address. This occurs when you voluntarily submit information to the website by leaving a comment, subscribing to post updates, purchasing a membership or other product from our storefront or submitting a contact form.

Automatically-Collected Information: We automatically collect certain information about you and the device with which you access the website. For example, when you use the website, we will log your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the website. We may also collect information about actions you take when using the website, such as the links you clicked.

The website currently uses the following third-party service providers:

Google Analytics: This service tracks website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the website. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.

MailChimp: This service is used for delivery of email newsletters and post updates. We store your name and email address for purposes of delivering such communications.  Please refer to MailChimp’s own privacy policy for further information.

PayPal: This payment processor collects donations, membership fees and other course or activity payments from our members. When you make a payment, we receive your name, email, address, phone number and notification of the amount paid, together with any options you may have chosen while completing your membership application. We do not receive any additional information unless you voluntarily submit your address or a comment. We do not have access to any other financial information you may have on file with PayPal. The Kent Beekeepers’ Association (KBKA): As a branch of the KBKA we will share all membership data collected with our parent association. The privacy policy for the KBKA can be found here

Bee Diseases Insurance Ltd (BDI): For the purposes of registering your Bee Disease Insurance cover when purchased with your membership we will share all your membership data provided to us by you with BDI. BDI also generate our electronic receipts and for this purpose any purchase made on this website and the data collected during the transaction may be shared with BDI.

British Beekeepers Association (BBKA): We will share all membership data you provide to us with the BBKA in order to register your membership with the BBKA as included with your selected membership option. The privacy policy for the BBKA can be found here

Bee Craft Ltd: When your selected membership package includes a subscription to BeeCraft Magazine we will share your name and address details for the purpose of registering your subscription. The privacy policy for Bee Craft Ltd can be found here

This list does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.

Personally Identifiable Information

At this time, your personal information is not shared with any other third-party applications. This list may be amended from time to time in the website’s sole discretion.

Except when required by law, we will not sell, distribute, or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your prior consent.

Anonymous data

From time to time, we may use anonymous data, which does not identify you alone, or when combined with data from other parties. This type of anonymous data may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. Examples of this anonymous data may include analytics or information collected from cookies.

Publicly visible information

If you leave a comment, certain information may be publicly visible. Your email address will never be available publicly.  Options such as adding an avatar, a profile description, and/or a link to your website are completely voluntary. You may also choose to link your Facebook, Instagram, and Google Account.

Access: You may access the personal information we have about you by submitting a request to membership@midkentbeekeepers.org.uk

Amend: You may contact us at membership@midkentbeekeepers.org.uk to amend or update your personal information.

Forget:  In certain situations, you may request that we erase or forget your personal data. To do so, please submit a request to membership@midkentbeekeepers.org.uk

Please note that we may need to retain certain information for record keeping purposes or to complete transactions, or when required by law.

Sensitive Personal Information

At no time should you submit sensitive personal information to the website. If you elect to submit such information to us, it will be subject to this Privacy Policy.
